Social Class

Social Class between the rich and the poor has increased in America lately.

73% of Democrats responded that class conflicts were serious.

1% of America's population's incomes increase greatly throughout the years of 1979 and 2007. This is seen in the public as a great dispute between social classes.

When a pole was given out to the public, 66% of the adults believed that the fight between classes was strong in some sort.

This video is a great resource telling of social class, mortgage, money, and a little bit more facts about classes in America.

Now this video talks about social mobility, the 'class war', and class's contribution to education. The video is shown in Britain's Channel 4 News studio. What this video also includes are opinions of other professionals and local people's opinions.
In this picture, a woman is holding a sign saying "Tax the Rich" and a flag with a peace sign on it.

Zero, a video about social injustice

This is a video about social injustice by directer Christopher Kezelos. This is a YouTube video and so if you'd rather watch it on YouTube then search for the keyword "zero" and this will be the first video link that will show up. This is a wonderful video that embodies the concept of social injustice in a short film. In the video, a society of dolls representing us are divided into social classes from birth. On a scale from 0 to 9, (with the exception of one much higher social class), society is rated. This video reminds me of the way an ancient society separated people into groups called castes in India many years ago. Please take the time to watch this video and remember that this was not made by me, and if you would like to learn more about the creaters, go onto YouTube, search "zero", select this video, ans then open the window that leads you to more information by the subscriber to YouTube who uploaded this video. Thank you.

Religous discrimination against a muslim woman.

I've been doing web searches today and have found this news article about religious discrimination. In this case, discrimination happened in October 2012. La-Fleur Mohamed walked into a south Florida Chevron gas station in her Muslim religious attire. When she had waited in line and gotten to the counter, La-Fleur Mohamed asked the clerk to put 20 dollars into the gas pump. The clerk responded by demanding that she remove her veil. La-Fleur Mohamed responded by saying that she has a right to wear religious clothing if she wants to. The clerk proceeded to throw the 20 dollars back at the customer. Chevron defended the accusations by saying that it was just after Halloween and the employees had been warned to be aware of buglers in disguises,.Yet when the customer called the sheriff and he was present, the clerk still refused to provide service. This is an example of religious discrimination that happened only 8 months ago. If you would like to see the full article, please refer to the link below that will take you to the article on the NBC webpage.

definition of social injustice

May 17th, 2013
The Definition of
Social Injustice
According to several online definition sources, the definition of social injustice is a concept that means unfairness or inequality in a society
Though many think society has overcome many of these hardships, they continue to carry on. There is discrimination against race (all races), gender, sexuality (if you yourself are homosexual or not), religions, and other things that may not make the big news like ability to do certain tasks or even what kind of a person you are. There are so many cases of social injustice in this world and we see it everyday. When are we actually going to take a stand and help others, help ourselves even? Don't contribute to this injustice because no one should be able to hurt someone so badly, emotionally or physically, I've heard from many people that people can only hurt you if you let them, which is true to a degree.
Do yourself a favor and don't judge others so quickly, everyone judges people, that is why there is such a phrase, you only have one chance to make a first impression. Some people are raised to be rude and just downright awful to people who are different. The thing is that they need to understand that they are people too.
